Dear Friends,
Welcome to the official website of "As They Fade" - an Emerson College B.F.A. thesis film. I am proud to
say that in July of 2009, I was finally able to realize my vision and begin production after nearly two years
in development. Bringing "As They Fade" to life has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my
life, both as a filmmaker and as a human being. Our seven-day shoot was an outstanding collaboration
that brought together people from all aspects of my life from childhood to adulthood. The film would not
have been possible without the efforts of such an accommodating and inspiring combination of family and
friends. I have never been more proud.
The story of Abby in "As They Fade" is one that has intrigued me since high school. While the film
revolves around several stories told through the eyes of young Abby, none are told in their
entirety. Instead, the film is structured around the notion that the most unassuming setting may in fact
have been the scene of some of history's most captivating and interrelated stories. In "As They Fade," the
remnants of the past lie buried beneath the currents of majestic Lake Superior -- that is, until Abby
uncovers them. She weaves through each story, while searching for her own.
I hope you enjoy learning about the production. Keep checking back to learn about our next screenings!
